REclaimed: A Book Review

I love Al's story. Though it is much different from my own conversion story to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, there are several similarities to our stories. We were both young adults coming from backgrounds very different from a traditional LDS upbringing and we both had a sense of "coming home". I believe that Heavenly Father is the creator of our spirits and we, every single person are His. I also believe that we have a choice as to whether we want to be His. Both Al and I made that choice by coming unto Him through baptism. We have been re-claimed as His.

This book is engaging, easy to read, and full of color photos. Al is honest and open about her struggles and her path to conversion. It actually took me a while to get through it, but that is because I misplaced it!  I found it again recently and have gotten through the rest of it fairly quickly. If you know someone that is interested in learning about different religions from a real and human standpoint, with lots of personal stories and anecdotes, then this would be a good read. She is such a cutie and there is no pretense or
falseness about her.

I was not raised in the Mormon church and I have always loved studying and learning about other churches, religions, belief systems and cultures. I also very firmly believe that we can do this in a way that is civil, cordial and even friendly. If you believe something different, I'd love to hear your thoughts, but I ask that you keep the
discourse respectful.
